Cleaning Stains Carpet Tips
Simply Cleaning Stain Carpet Tips

Chances are, you have carpet flooring in your home. This is because most US households do and all you have to do to have one is choose a fabric, measure it and then lay this on the ground. This requires regular maintenance and here are a few cleaning stain carpet tips. Your carpet should be vacuumed weekly and given deep cleaning three or four times a year. But should a stain get on the carpet, you shouldn't panic and take immediate action because speed is essential. The three most common carpet stains are from food, a beverage or ink. If a solid object caused it, this has to be removed and disposed of properly. When this is done, the same approach for handling a liquid stain is performed. One important tip for cleaning a carpet stain is that you must never soak this in hot water. You should get a sponge, apply some rubbing alcohol on it and then blot this over the stained area. People should take note that there is a difference between doing this and brushing against the fabric. This is because blotting prevents the stain from spreading which enables you to contain the problem. It is possible that there are still some remnants on the carpet. When this happens, you should use dry cleaning fluid or a spray spot remover. Either of the two can be purchased from the grocery store, which should ideally be carrying a grease solvent such as petroleum naphtha or tichlorethylene as one of its ingredients. Another way to get rid of a stain is to use glycerin. You don't just pour this on the carpet but apply this on a sponge or a paper towel. The sponge and the paper towel must be made of highly absorbent material and color white. This will prevent things from getting much worse which usually happens when other colors are used. This can also be mixed with one part water, liquid dish washing detergent and together with add a few drops of ammonia to achieve a maximum effect by again blotting. If this is done properly, you will soon notice that the stain is no longer present. You should then rinse the area with cold water to remove any chemical residue and smell from any of the cleaning agents used. Don't forget to dry this afterwards using a hair dryer or a fan. There have been instances wherein you have followed the tips mentioned and have not been successful in removing the stain. Should this happen, you must never use harsher chemicals and instead call on a professional carpet cleaner to do the job. Such individuals are trained to handle these things given this is what they do for a living unlike yourself who has to spring to action when the accident has just occurred. Many of these cleanings services are open 24 hours a day so expect someone to drop by after you make the call. The cleaning stain carpet tips mentioned will take painstaking work so you have to be patient. You can even ask someone to help if it is quite large and since this could happen again, it is advisable to have such supplies hidden in the closet and keep the number of the cleaning service by the phone.
